Like Father, Like Son

Completed with 2B and a little 4B pencil, on 8 1/2" x 11" paper.
A lovely Father and Son drawing.  A little secret, the guy on the left (the son) is my boyfriend Gonzo.  I tend not to draw people I know, or see on a regular basis, because I can't draw them accurately.  Like myself, if you ask me to draw myself I look like a skewed version of myself.  Sometimes I look really angry, or really old, because I see things other people might not.  It's my interpretation of myself and I'm always told "you don't look like that".  But with Gonzo, drawing him was weird...in a good way.  I think it looks exactly like him.  But while drawing him, and looking at the photo I was provided with, I was noticing features that I have started to overlook over the years.  We've been together almost 7 years, so yeah, I guess it's allowed to not pay attention every second anymore.  His dad, well the drawing looks like the photo I was provided with, but he looks slimmer now.
Since it's Gonzo's birthday, I figured I would honor him by posting on his birthday (and that makes 2 for the month!  And all in one week!  How about that?!)

I admire anyone who has artistic abilities, I have none!
